About Asher Ross
I Grew Up in Paradise. But My Real Story Wasn’t Postcard Perfect.
I was raised in Malibu, California, during the 90s – a time and place that looked like something out of a dream. I lived in an oceanfront home. I surfed before school. I got good grades, played sports, and traveled the world.
From the outside, it looked like I had everything.
But behind the front door, things were different.
The Other Side of the Story
I was the kid with Tourette’s. The one who got bullied. The one who wasn’t invited – not just by classmates, but by the parents who didn’t want me around their kids.
I grew up in a home where my mother’s mental illness and hoarding made whole rooms unlivable. There was chaos in places that were supposed to feel safe.
Teachers didn’t know what to do with me. Friends didn’t know how to stick around. And I didn’t know how to explain the contradictions I lived every day.
I had to become the kind of person who could hold it all together – even when it felt like everything around me was falling apart.
And Still… I Lived.
Somehow, I still found my way into adventure:
I’ve skied out of helicopters in Alaska, surfed the reefs of Fiji and Indonesia, bow hunted in the wild, and trained with some of the best fighters and martial artists in the world.
But none of that compares to the inner work I’ve had to do.
Learning how to quiet the noise.
Learning how to turn emotional chaos into clarity.
Learning how to stop pretending I was fine when I wasn’t.
Why I’m Here
This space isn’t about me – it’s about you.
It’s for the people who feel broken but keep showing up anyway.
The high-functioning, quietly struggling ones.
The kids who felt too different. The adults who feel too much. The ones trying to heal from homes that never taught them how to feel safe.
You’re not alone.
You’re not too much.
And you’re not broken.
You’re becoming.
What I Do Now
Today, I coach teens, adults, and parents who are navigating emotional overwhelm, self-worth struggles, and difficult family dynamics.
I translate emotion into action.
I help people turn inner noise into calm clarity.
And I offer support that’s grounded in lived experience, not just theory.
If that sounds like something you need…
Or explore the blog and start where you feel called.
I’m glad you’re here.
And I promise we’ll get through this together.
