Kanye West Will Release New Album Jesus Is King This Week
Kanye West has apparently announced a tentative new release date for his elusive upcoming album Jesus Is King. The album was originally supposed to be released on September 27 by his wife, Kim Kardashian West, and was later pushed back to September 29. It never arrived, even though West held multiple listening parties that weekend of the album. Later on Friday, Kardashian shared what appeared to be a different tracklist for Jesus Is King on Twitter. Also purportedly dropping on Friday: the accompanying "Jesus is King" film.
On Friday, 'Jesus is King' was trending on Twitter and between the fanfare were pockets of Christian's who found the music venture sacrilegious. If the title didn't give it away, Jesus Is King is a Christian album. ORIGINAL STORY (September 17, 2019): Following Kim Kardashian's social media teaser and a subsequent reveal on Kanye West 's official web site , the multi-hyphenate artist has finally confirmed the release date for his highly-anticipated album Jesus Is King.
Back in September, wife Kim Kardashian West revealed the album's track list which featured 12 songs with Christian-themed titles set originally to be released on September 27. According to Forbes , the 42-year-old announced the much awaited release date at the Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience event at George Washington University. Jesus Is King premieres exclusively in IMAX theaters on October 25.
However, one thing the rep didn't mention was that there would be new merch and that the album would be heavily featured in the film Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience. 25, will include songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition alongside music from his album of the same name. There, the choir performs 13 songs, arranged by West in the gospel tradition”, including tracks from the album.
Kanye West is delivering on his promise of not just an album, but a movie too.
